Our Story

Our name represents more than just being your trusted guide to family care. It carries the initials of the man who inspired this company—Gasper Peter Scardino, a loving dad and grandfather.

Many can relate to the experience of watching a family member show the inevitable signs of aging. It’s a journey that can be both overwhelming and emotional. Having reliable care makes all the difference.

For our family, that care wasn’t available when we needed it most. We quickly realized that no one would provide the level of care my parents deserved better than we could. After caring for my mother and struggling to find the right support, I dedicated myself to caring for my father, with the help of my son. It became clear to us that our experience wasn’t unique. So many families were facing the same challenge to find quality care, and my son and I knew we could make a difference.

What began as assisting family and friends grew into something much larger. Over the past decade, our team—built on personal experience and a shared commitment—has provided compassionate care to more families than we ever imagined. Through it all, our mission remains the same: to serve with patience, kindness, and love.

Meet the Founders

Pennie Scardino Sortino

In 2001, I closed my business to care for my mother during her battle with cancer and later continued caring for my father, who suffered from heart disease. After losing my mom in 2004, I dedicated myself fully to caregiving, realizing firsthand how important it is to have compassionate, reliable support during life’s most difficult moments.

My first professional caregiving role was with a husband and wife recovering from a devastating car accident. Through that experience, I discovered my true calling — providing care not just as a job, but from the heart.

As demand for my services grew, I began building a team of caring, like-minded individuals who shared my passion. After my father passed in 2012, I moved forward with creating a business rooted in compassion, dignity, and genuine connection.

Today, my son — who joined me while studying science in college — is now my partner in the business. Together, we are proud to continue serving families with the same love and commitment that inspired me from the very beginning.

From a young age, I had a special connection with the older generations. I was fortunate to grow up with my grandparents living in our home, which allowed me to spend meaningful time with them every day—something I will always be grateful for. Seeing the way my mother cared for them shaped my understanding of what it truly means to be there for family, and she continues to set that example today.

After graduating from Villanova University with a degree in psychology, I knew I wanted to help my mom continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. It’s something I take great pride in—carrying forward my grandfather’s legacy and honoring him through the work we do with this company.
